Two half-day sessions, a fortnight apart
Session 1: what’s really happening now. We separate the problems that are live today from those that belong to the past or may never happen. We trace how they connect, and find what’s holding everything else back. Your team leaves with a fortnight’s work: testing what we found against the evidence.
Session 2: the route. We choose the threads that matter most, define where you are and where you need to be, and chart the steadiest route between them. You leave with projects, owners and a first step for each.
You leave with:
- A map of your organisation as it really is.
- The constraints holding it back.
- A small number of projects, each with an owner and a first step.
- A decision register, so everyone has the same record of what was agreed.
- A written plan within a week.
A method with a track record
Developed in 1999 and refined over 27 years. It took a technical book distributor through the arrival of the web, until it became the distributor of choice for small Australian publishers. It turned a testing laboratory, a training organisation and an engineering consultancy into one pipeline for new clients. More recently it has helped community groups find where effort on a river’s health will count most.
How it works
- A 30-minute conversation about the challenge and who is involved. Free.
- Short conversations beforehand with a few of the people involved.
- The two half-days, a fortnight apart: in person, anywhere in South East Queensland, for up to about twenty people.
- Your written summaries, within a week of each session.
Fee: AUD 9,200 + GST for the two sessions, fixed and agreed before we start.
